#MBFWA – The NextGen

MBFWA NextGen Collection

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week has been and gone here in Sydney Australia and with a bit of hustling I was fortunate enough to obtain a press pass.
This year MBFWA took place in May instead of April this year, which was a strategic move that allowed designers to launch Resort Collections at the beginning of global sales windows.
While I would have loved to be there for all the action during the week, a girls gotta eat, so I took just a day off work and headed in armed with my trusty Nikon DSLR.

The day kicked off with St George Project NextGen.

Project NextGen is an initiative that is intended to provide a platform to discover and support emerging Australian fashion designers.

I was really excited to see the NextGen Collections from the featured 2016 Winners and was not disappointed. Watch a selection of the show on the Chic n Cheeky YouTube channel.

The 2016 winners were:

I really loved these collections but for all different reasons. But the one that stole my heart was Kaliver. It was one that I had to remember to take pictures, it just captivated me.
